New Prime Minister Justin Nsengiyumva is set to visit Gabiro Agribusiness Hub in Nyagatare District, Eastern Province, on Saturday, August 9. The hub is a flagship agricultural project aimed at strengthening food security, reducing trade imbalances, and generating employment.

The visit marks the second day of the Prime Minister’s tour of agricultural initiatives across Eastern Province, which began on August 8.

The agribusiness hub was established through a partnership between the Government of Rwanda and Netafim, an Israel-based global leader in irrigation technologies. It aims to boost food security, reduce trade imbalances, and create jobs through advanced water infrastructure, cutting-edge irrigation, and agro-processing.

Investments in the project are expected to enhance productivity and introduce modern farming practices, with over 6,000 jobs to be generated, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources.
