Daniel Generation School (DGS), a new Christian-based learning institution, will open on September 10 in Kagugu, Gasabo District. The school, founded by Omega Church, will begin with nursery and lower primary levels, enrolling around 150 children aged three and above in its first academic year.

Speaking at a media briefing on August 7, Liliose Kaligirwa Tayi, the Senior Pastor of Omega Church, said the school is part of the church’s broader vision to contribute to national development through values-based education.

"Our goal is to raise children who are academically excellent, spiritually grounded, and socially responsible. We believe this kind of education will help shape a better future for Rwanda and beyond,” she said.

Daniel Generation School will follow the Cambridge International Education curriculum. This is an internationally recognised education programme developed by Cambridge Assessment International Education, part of the University of Cambridge in the UK.

Pastor Tayi noted that the school’s name was inspired by the biblical figure Daniel, who is known for his integrity, wisdom, faithfulness, humility, and courage.

"The school will focus on academic achievement, character formation, and leadership through service. Faith will be integrated into the learning process,” she said.

Though rooted in Christian values, the pastor explained that the school is open to learners from different religious backgrounds.

"We welcome all students who respect the values we uphold, and we shall offer scholarships to high-performing learners from underprivileged backgrounds to ensure access to quality education.”

Lessons will be taught in English, while Kinyarwanda and French will also be part of the curriculum to help learners connect with people from different backgrounds, she added.

The school will offer activities like music, dance, drama, and camps to support students’ personal growth. They will also have access to a playground where they can take part in sports such as football and basketball.

"This is not just a church project, it’s for the community. Even church members who wish to work at the school will undergo the same recruitment process as everyone else. We are prioritising competence and experience,” Pastor Tayi noted.

Rosette Muligande, a board member of the school, said Daniel Generation School will be guided by five core values, including excellence, leadership, integrity, compassion, and Christ-centeredness.

"We want to nurture children with strong Christian and Rwandan values, who grow into people that serve others and contribute positively to their communities,” she said.

She added that the decision to start with nursery and lower primary was intentional, to lay a strong foundation before expanding into upper primary, secondary, and eventually university education.

Admissions for the 2025–2026 academic year are now open. Interested parents and guardians can contact the school via email at admin@danielgenerationschool.rw or call +250 796 707 016 for more information.
