This popular saying that, "Work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” is something we all understand. For most of us, it is more than just a saying, it has become our reality.

Rwanda is developing so first and there are different opportunities to learn with technology. We love our laptops and enjoy all our free time as we surf the web for hours.

Not long ago, Play Stations were here and we got addicted to them. Before we knew what was happening, we had turned into couch potatoes. We spent more time indoors playing video games instead of playing with friends outside.
All children are entitled to the right to play, unfortunately or fortunately technology seems to be taking that away.  Games on our laptops are good but it’s equally important to do physical games.

There is more to playing outside than just getting dirty. The playground is where children learn the best lessons in life as they imagine and test different possibilities.

So next time you start playing a game, think of it not just as a leisure activity but as a tool that helps you to tap into your inner creativity.

Play to keep healthy, as you exercise and get rid of stress. Also learn to balance your time on your laptop and time playing outdoor game. As you do so enjoy yourself because creating your own fun is part of a healthy childhood.
