Now, if you have been wondering how you can achieve a gorgeous look, think about a smile.

A smile heals the grief, and people can hardly notice outdated clothes if you wear a big smile.

Whether you share the same opinion with us or not a smile is important. There are just some times, that something will pop up to get us down. It could be anything, perhaps missed deadline, a lost business opportunity, or your car would not start.

Whatever it is, there is always something to upset you, and turn a glamorous face into a dull one.

"Your miserable world can be brighter from behind a smile,” Mary Asiimwe says, addin, "A smile is a tool that sets everything perfect.”

This may sound a little far fetched, doesn’t it? After all, how can you smile after something bad happened to you?

It seems an abnormal way to react, to smile after an awful event, and people around you might get to thinking that you are out of your mind.

But smiling is the best way you can relieve yourself of negative emotions, anxiety, anger and nervousness.

According to Evelyn Uwineza, a beautician at the Trade Union Centre, a smile helps to exercise the facial muscles, making the face glow and become firmer and lithe.

"A smile also arouses the brain, and brings a general feeling of well-being to the body,” Uwineza says.

Sometimes we feel like we do not want to smile because of the circumstance we are going through.

If you are undergoing such a situation, take a moment and think about anything interesting you can do, or to see.

Try as much as possible to avoid anything that may remind you about your failures and troubles because it will only leave you stressed out and also makes you feel a loser in life.

Take a brief pause from work, get some coffee, or water and take a short walk around the office.

"Although it has never been easy for me to smile, I know that it’s important for one’s health, and I totally admire people who smile often,” says Emmanuel Kalisa, a pharmacist in Kimironko.

There is nothing like a great achievement to bring a smile on one’s face. And what else can bring this success other than excelling on something, especially achieving your dream?

Give someone a compliment. If you are not in the mood of smiling, you can pay a compliment to someone because a smiling is contagious and seeing other people smile can get you smiling too.

"Always try to be happy because you never know who’s falling in love with your smile,” says Jeffrey Gatebazi, a 2nd year student at the National University of Rwanda (NUR), Huye district.

And for the ladies, the most important thing we have to remember about smiling is that when we smile even though something annoyed you, a smile helps you to look fine and pretty.

However, on a contrary, Alex Higiro, 26, has a different perception about the idea of smiling. He believes that a smile creates wrinkles to someone’s face.

"I believe in the adage that, [too much of anything is bad]. In this case, I believe that when someone smiles often, the face stretches, which creates the wrinkles,” Higiro says.
