Rainfall in August is expected to range between 0 and 100 millimetres, with a slight increase in the last ten days, according to the forecast by the Rwanda Meteorology Agency.
The highest rainfall, between 70 and 100 mm, is expected in Musanze District, most parts of Rubavu, Nyabihu, Burera, Nyamagabe districts, and in parts of Gakenke, Karongi and Nyamasheke districts.

Rainfall ranging between 60 and 70 mm is projected in other districts of Western Province, parts of Burera, Gakenke, Muhanga, Rulindo, Gicumbi, Nyagatare, Ruhango, Nyanza, Huye districts, as well as northern Kamonyi and Nyaruguru District.
Most parts of Kigali, Rwamagana District, Kayonza District, and part of Kirehe District will receive 50 to 60 mm, while areas such as Amayaga and some eastern districts may receive less than 50 mm.
Temperature
Temperatures in August will remain within the long-term average, with highs ranging between 20 and 32 degrees Celsius. The hottest areas include Bugesera District, Nyagatare District, Kigali, and some parts of Eastern Province as well as the Bugarama plain in Rusizi.
Cooler maximums, between 20°C and 22°C, are expected in highland districts like Nyabihu, Musanze, Burera, and Rubavu, which will receive the most amount of rainfall.

Minimum temperatures will range from 7°C in Nyabihu, Musanze, and parts of the west and south, to 17°C in Kigali, Kirehe, Kayonza, and parts of Gatsibo.
Wind speed
Moderate to strong winds ranging between 4 and 12 metres per second are forecast across the country. Stronger winds, from 8 to 12 m/s, are expected in Rubavu, Rutsiro, Karongi, Nyamasheke, and other highland districts.
Moderate winds of 6 to 8 m/s will cover much of the remaining parts of the country, with lighter winds (4 to 6 m/s) forecast for parts of Kigali, Kayonza, Ngoma, and Bugesera districts.
