Editor,
Through your paper allow me express my serious discontent about the national water and electricity distributor - ELECTROGAZ.

As I write this piece, I am well aware the name of this institution has changed but the change is something insignificant, especially in comparison to the unacceptable suffering being inflicted on us.

Over the past several weeks we have experienced water problems. At one point I thought it was only my home until a friend of mine dealing in jerry cans told me business was great.

I wish the problem was only water shortage but the suffering is coming in heavy doses.

Second to the water shortage has been the messed-up water bills. Recently I listened to a radio program where a family man complained that his water bill was larger than that of a primary boarding school.

Mr. Yves Muyange sir, this man is not alone. In my small family home, my bill is bigger than that of an army barracks.

Recently, I went to my local Electrogaz station to complain and they told me they would subject me to a minimum of 24 hours without water if they are to fix my problem.

I asked around and was told its a general problem so we should hang in there.

If you thought it was only zero water for lots of cash, wait until you see the colour of water these days.

Hon. Minister of Health, after H1N1, get ready for all the water-borne diseases you can think of.

I warn you all to stop brushing your teeth with tap water. It’s HORRIBLE. The colour is scary.

The worst side of the story is we have not heard an official explanation from the water body on these matters that put our health and lives in general at risk.

Or has ELECTROGAZ made so much money that they are ready to foot our medical bills?

Please do something guys.

Regards,
