Rwanda will take on Côte d'Ivoire on August 13 in the opening Group A match of the FIBA Afrobasket 2025 finals, according to fixtures released on Monday.
The 31st AfroBasket edition will take place in Angola’s two cities—Luanda and Namibe —from August 12-24.

Groups A and C will play at Luanda’s iconic Kilamba Arena while Namibe will host Groups B and D games at the Pavilhão Welwitschia Mirabilis.
Cheikh Sarr’s Rwanda was placed in Group A alongside Côte d'Ivoire, Cape Verde and DR Congo. After Côte d'Ivoire, they will play DR Congo on August 15 before concluding their group stage against Cape Verde on August 17.

From August 12 to 17, each team will play the other three teams in the group in a one-way system after which the top team in each group qualifies directly for the quarter-finals.

The teams which will finish in second and third places will play classification matches to decided who qualify for quarter-finals.
