Examinations are a way of testing ones knowledge or skill about specific subjects. Many times, students feel anxious whenever examinations are around the corner. They panic, worry and become very anxious; this is called ‘examination fever.’

Last week Primary six pupils sat for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) that will eventually see them join lower secondary school.

Paul Habyarimana a primary six pupil at Kigali Harvest Primary School said during examination time, he was confident because he revised his notes.

"I used to read my books before examination time. So I was prepared to answer any questions,” Habyarimana said.
He expressed disappointment towards pupils who wait for examination time before they can concentrate on reading their books.

Marie Nshuti a pupil at APAPER Primary School in Remera in P.5 said she knows that hard work at school is important if she has to pass examinations. She explained that those who spend most of their time playing will not have time to read.

"Pupils should only play when they get back home. At school, time for games is limited,” Nshuti said.

It is essential to read not only for the purpose of sitting for examination but to acquire knowledge.

Therefore performing well needs serious revision that can easily enable students to succeed in their examinations.
