NYABIHU -The Minister of Land, Mines and Natural Resources Stanislas Kamanzi, has asked Nyabihu District authorities to punish cell leaders and agronomists who fail to properly organise community work.

While participating in community work last Saturday, in Bigogwe sector, Kamanzi said time wasting occasioned by poor organisation is an impediment against the spirit of the community works programme.

His remarks followed reports that residents had not been properly guided regarding the venue of Saturday’s community work in which most of them reported late.

"We were heading to a different direction and we found one local defence personnel who misled us ,” Jean damascene Twagirimana said.

In response the minister said: "You’re mature people; authorities should not waste your time.Time keeping is key to the success of this programme.”

Speaking to over 300 residents after Umuganda, Kamanzi announced that the next Tree planting Week slated for November 16-21 will take place in Bigogwe.
