The idea of moving out of Kigali to up country made my insides churn with excitement trying to imagine how the place looked like.

Like a young child visiting the city for the very first time, I spent the whole night awake waiting for dawn to come so I could set for road.

I got out of bed by 6.00am and at exactly 8.00am I was all packed because I didn’t want to lose out on any minute since I had a three hours drive journey ahead of me.

On the road, you cannot fail to admire the slopes and the corners you go round. you actually do not realize how long you have travelled since it is not like the straight highways where you look back and you can not figure out the distance you have left ahead of you.

The place is very cold that one would make a very big mistake to forget a sweater thus the entire vehicle is sealed off to make sure there is way in for the cold at all
Apart from the disappointments I got when we missed out on the bus for more than once with different reasons the virunga busses have excellent services

Initially we missed the first bus from town and were given chance to go on the next one without paying any extra coin therefore there’s always improvise for you  in case of anything  and the same applies to the luggage you will always get it at their offices once you loose it .

My friend being a male, I remember over hearing some one asking him if were a ‘just married’ couple. I found that kind of funny but, I thought may be this is a good place for honey moons after all.

It has fabulous lake shore hotels with a view of the lake which makes it a cool place to stay.

The place has happening places besides the hotels there are night clubs that keep dancers busy the whole night for as long as they wish.

We arrived quite late at night so I did not get chance to see all the  details i wanted, the next day .At that, i decided to rise even earlier this time to catch up with my agenda of the day.

So much is said about Lake Kivu and this haunted me all night through I could wait to see this lake that holds strong tales in the country

Lake Kivu is just like any other lake only that it has a building In the middle of it which according to my sources is a company that extracts excess carbon dioxide that is in the lake

In gisenyi, there are volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains that are visible along the boarder of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

As a result of the volcanoes and lava flowing from the stratovolcano mountain nyiragongo that raptures in the neighbor country DRC Congo, gisenyi is endowed with stones which they use as building materials

Nyiragongo Mountain is burning red hot at night and this gives off a tourist sight. There is talk that the mountains are bound to rapt any time soon.
