MUSANZE-An accountant of Reseau Interdiocess Microfinance company-RIM has been arrested and detained at Muhoza Police Station, after an internal audit discovered that Rwf9million belonging  to the firm  was missing.

Sources say Leonidas Ruhumuriza, is alleged to have connived with the company’s cashier, Jean Baptist Mapendo who has since disappeared after sensing trouble.

The administration of  RIM in Musanze declined to comment on the saga and referred The New Times to the firm’s Director General who is based in Kigali.

However, when contacted by phone, the Director General Diane Uwimbabazi, could neither confirm nor deny that his accountant was under arrest, saying it could scare away their clients.

 "We are still investigating, give us time,” Uwimbabazi said.
Police sources said Ruhumuriza was set to appear in court yesterday .
