On the night of July 3, the Kigali Convention Centre was transformed into a stage of patriotism and cultural pride as Rwandan artistes led celebration for Liberation Day at "Urw’Intwari,” live concert.
The concert was organised by Ma Africa events company to honor Rwanda’s journey of liberation through music and dance.
A drone light show stood out on the night as fireworks moved over the KCC skies with liberation-themed messages, sparking a new yet energetic atmosphere along the venue.
The evening opened with a powerful performance by Indejuru Troupe, a group of young dancers from Nyanza District, Southern Province, whose impressive talent and synchronization captured the audience from the very start.
Next to the stage was Ishyaka ry’Intore that delivered a compelling showcase of traditional dance and drumming. With each precise move and rhythm, they celebrated Rwandan heritage, while their young drummers lit up the room with enthusiasm and skill.
Following then, Inyamibwa brought their trademark energy and charisma, immersing the crowd in a high-powered performance that demonstrated months of polished rehearsal and cultural passion.
Then celebrated singer Damien Nkurunziza, known as Maji Maji, was introduced to the stage for what proved to be a powerful performance full patriotism as shown through his well-known liberation anthem "Mag Mag.”
As the song echoed through the hall, the crowd rose in unison to dance and sing along, celebrating Rwanda’s heroic past. He was joined by Ma Classic Band, who also performed a medley of liberation songs that kept spirits high and the audience fully engaged.
One of the evening’s most breathtaking moments came with a spectacular drone light show above the venue. Dozens of drones painted the sky with images symbolizing liberation, unity, and national pride — including messages of gratitude to President Paul Kagame who was at the forefront when Rwanda Patriotic Army liberated the country on July 4, 1994.
Attendees lifted their phones to the sky, eager to capture the unforgettable moment.
The concert ended at 11 PM.
