GATSIBO – The recently elected Gatsibo District Mayor, Anselme Majoro Rurangwa on Wednesday took over office.
Pascal Ndahayo, the outgoing acting Mayor handed over the mantle to his successor at a ceremony organised at the district’s auditorium.

In his inaugural speech, Majoro called for massive support from residents and local leaders, noting that sustainable development in the district will be reached with team work.
"Leadership calls for team work…a team cannot depend on one player to win but a collection of every player’s effort can give forth success.

It is then from here that every one in the district is asked to play a key role in developing our district,” he said.

The new Mayor said solving residents’ problems and fighting against corruption in district would be his priorities.
"I am very much ready to respond to residents’ problems and to seek advice on issues concerning our district… but this should be done through all leadership units,” he added.
He further called on sector leaders to pull up their efforts for the purposes of developing their sectors which, he said, is expected to contribute to the transformation of the entire economy.
