MTN-Ericsson golf tourney woos record turn up

WITH an assortment of attractive prizes and conducive playing conditions at the Kigali Golf Club course, Rajan Tiwari expects a compelling MTN-Ericsson tournament today.

The 5th edition, which will have a shot-gun tee-off at 11am, is expected to grace about 90 golfers.

"The MTN-Ericsson tournament is one of the biggest events on the KGC calendar and we expect a full house this Saturday,” Tiwari, the KGC club captain said.

Besides local golfers, in attendance will also be three top shots at MTN-Uganda; Thembo Khumalo (MTN Rwanda’s former CEO, Isaac Nsereko-Chief Marketing Officer and Dr. A.K Sebaale.

Ahead of the 18-hole event, the talking point has been centered on who can win the lucrative hole in one prize.

According to MTN-Rwanda’s senior marketing manager Yvonne Makolo, any golfer who manages the feat will get free residential wireless internet for a whole year courtesy of the telecommunications giant.

Last year, the tournament was won by Steven Katwiremu.
