The recent resignation of Moses Turahirwa as Moshions’ men’s and women’s wear designer got many thinking that he is no longer a part of the fashion brand.

However, the resignation took a new twist when the designer clarified that he remains committed to serve the fashion house as the Chief Executive Officer, a position he held since the brand was founded in 2015.

Turahirwa has been making headlines on the showbiz scene, having been at the centre of criticism when the public accused him of indecency, referring to one of the photos that he posted on his social media platforms earlier this week.

Some believe the photo, which went viral on social media, might have been behind his resignation, a decision that came as a key solution to maintaining the brand’s reputation.

However, the model-turned designer explained that he only resigned as the men’s and women’s wear designer to create more room for other designers to show what they can offer and contribute to the growth of the brand.

"I remain the CEO, and I’m excited to pass on to new younger designers being appointed to keep innovating for the future heritage,” the designer said in a Twitter post on Friday.

Turahirwa was at the helm of Moshions since the fashion house was founded in 2015. Before then, he had been a model for about half a decade.

It’s under the designer that Moshions established itself as one of Rwanda’s best fashion brands with customized clothing creations that attracted high demand from the international market. It also became home to a number of international celebrities and political figures who pay a visit to the fashion house showroom to purchase some of its finest clothing creations during their stay in the country for various reasons.
