KAYONZA- Residents of Rwinkwavu in Kayonza District are reaping from a growing mining sector attributable to significant portions of wolfram and cassiterite prevalent in the area.

The miners say they earn Rwf2.600 per Kilogram of Casseterite -which they say is considerably a good price for the moment.

"We get enough money to cater for our needs. No other business can bring such returns,” Anastas Habineza, 33, one of miners told The New Times.

However the miners decried the rudimentary methods used in the mining process saying they lacked the means to fully exploit the opportunity.
