RWANDA’S cricket governing body, RCA has confirmed that Rwanda will field a team at next month’s Africa Cricket Association (ACA) U-19 East Africa girls’ tournament.

The annual event, which is expected to attract two guest teams; Zambia and Nigeria, will throw off November 14 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

RCA believes that they can raise a competitive team for the regional event after a successful Caisse Sociale schools cricket tournament.

"I think the schools cricket tournament was timely for the ACA tournament and we intend to use the tournament to name the provisional team for the Dar es salaam event,” RCA’s administrative officer Robert Mugisha said.

Kagarama will no doubt contribute the lion’s share on the provisional team after dominating the schools cricket event.

On top of crushing Apade in the final, Kagarama also swept all the individual awards on offer. Delphine Mukarurangwa won the top scorer award; Evodia Mukaremero picked the best bowler’s award while Vicky Gahonzire took the best player accolade.

Uganda, Kenya and hosts Tanzania will also compete in the tournament.
