Man gets life over defilment

Nyarugenge court recently sentenced a 24-year old man identified as Innocent Nkudabashaka to life imprisonment over defiling 7 and 8-year old children.

Nkundabashaka, who was a house boy, was arrested as he tried to defile a third girl after she sounded an alarm at the neighbor’s house next to his employer’s residence in Nyamirambo sector.

MPs present report on agriculture

The Parliamentary Standing Committee in charge of agriculture in the Lower Chamber Wednesday presented a report that revealed a number of problems faced by rural farmers.

Among the problems were poor usage of fertilizers, and lack of irrigation.

However, the parliamentarians revealed that there is an increase in production in this sector.  

Youths to host regional meet

Together as One in Christ Youth Christian Ministry will, early next month, hold an East African Youth Breakfast in Rubavu district that will bring together youths from across the region.

The meeting which will last three days, is aimed at teaching youths about unity and reconciliation, sex-abstinence and the fight against HIV/AIDS.

According to Bosco Karegeya, the ministry’s vice chairman, they have contacted Kenya, Uganda and Burundi embassies and they have all confirmed they will send their respective youth organizations.

RECO & RWASCO to hold communal work

The Rwanda Electricity Corporation (RECO) and Rwanda Water Sanitation Corporation (RWASCO) staff will today carry out communal work at Rugarama primary school in Nyamirambo sector Nyarugenge district.

The communal work is aimed at supporting the 9-year basic education.

Gisagara discusses electricity rollout

The newly elected Advisory Council of Gisagara District, Wednesday held a meeting and discussed the installation of electricity in areas where there is no power.

The district has collected over Rwf 9 million for the project that will cover several parts of the district.
