Colombe

This Rwandan beauty is an aspiring fashion designer, and currently a student of NCC, doing Information and Technology. NCC is a UK based University and has its branch at Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST).

Colombe is multilingual and fluent in French, English, Swahili and Kinyarwanda having been born in the Democratic Public of Congo, and stayed in both Rwanda and Uganda.

She may come across as shy at first but quickly warms up. Colombe loves the fact that she is very diplomatic and honest when dealing with people.

She is proud of her hard-working and determined nature. She loves that she is very diplomatic in her dealings with people.

She is also honest but thinks that perhaps she is too forgiving at times and thus can be easily taken for granted. She is the last born in her family. She has only one sister and no brother.

The 20-year-old finds it interesting that her family seem to win her trust and confide in her –because of her talent and mature personality.

Colombe confesses that she is fascinated by Paula Reed’s drawings and collections. Paula is a famous Belgian fashion director. She also has a passion for fashion design magazines like, Vogue, and Hugo.

"I used to imitate Paula’s drawings but later, I developed my own,” says Colombe, adding that: "I realized that my pictures were great and would be used for tailoring.”

She has been dressing people for weddings, anniversaries and parties. Colombe has also worked with some of the famous tailoring stores in Kigali, including Chez Clement, and dressing their clients.

Her creations focus mostly on ladies wear. She mixes the African traditional tissues, colours and designs. And her dream though is to start her own fashion agency in Rwanda, and start producing her own deigns.
