Rwanda’s leading telecom company by market share, MTN, is in talks with TEAMS, the company which will soon land it’s under sea cable at the coast, to have access to Internet connection.

This was revealed by the company’s Senior Marketing Executive, Yvonne Makolo.

The East African Marine System (TEAMS) is an initiative spearheaded by the government of Kenya to link the country to the rest of the world through a submarine fibre optic cable.

According to Makolo, the company is in talks with the TEAMS authorities and that  negotiations are on a high level but she declined to mention the time the company will sign the deal saying both parties are still negotiating.
