Erik Paske believes his APR team will only get better after winning the league in his debut season.

APR will target a good display when they lock horns with visiting Burundian giants Vital’O this afternoon at Nyamirambo stadium.

The game will be APR’s last warm up ahead of the new season which kicks off this Saturday and as expected, a forum for the league champions to continue testing their new signings.

APR’s Dutch coach Erik Paske recently said that he would use the game to gauge how well the new players have settled in.

Vital’O will be a good test for APR, who pipped Atraco to last season’s league title.

The Burundi side is one of the most decorated clubs in the country with 12 league trophies. Like APR, Vital’O is already warming up for next year’s Africa Champions league whose preliminaries start in January.

The new season poses a tough test for the army side. It is going to be a congested season after the league, Peace Cup, Cecafa Kagame Cup and CAF Champions League.

Early this month, APR lifted the Pre-season football title after walloping SC Kiyovu 4-1 in the final.

New signings Abbas Rassou scored a hat-trick, whilst Leon Xavier Cedric put the icing on the cake with a fourth goal, as the defending league champions ran amok at Amahoro Stadium.

APR qualified for Africa’s lucrative club competition after lifting the league title. The army side collected their tenth league title after piping Atraco on the last day of the league.
