APR’s key players Flavien Ndamukunda and Yakan Lawrence are due to fly out to Egypt early next month for professional trials with Egypt’s elite volleyball club El-Shams.

In an interview with Times Sport, APR manager Augustin Munyendamutsa acknowledged El-Shams’ interest in the duo and said the Cairo based club had even agreed to treat Ndamukunda’s shoulder injury.

"El-Shams have officially expressed interest in Flavien and Yakan, and we are helping them process the necessary documentation,” Munyendamutsa said.

The attacking pair joined APR in 2006 from Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) and have been key in the club’s recent dominant run.

Similar to last year, APR sealed a treble on Sunday when they outfoxed KVC to win this year’s Carre’d’AS. It was their third title after the league and Rutsindura memorial tournament.
