They associate with the Old School hip hop music, and their lyrics are tough and popular.

They call themselves the ‘Tuff Gang’, a male dominated group of five rappers, who amidst a huge sphere of controversy have proved consistency both on fan base and airwaves.

Bull Dogg, P-fla, Green Person, Jay Polly and Fireman, who make up the Tuff Gang started in 2008 with their first track ‘Umunsi w’Imperuka’.

However, some of their lyrics were said to be controversial in some way.

The friction increased, until mid this year 2009 when most radio stations refused to play  Tuff Gang songs.
"There was a time that we were not even allowed to perform in concerts, but this didn’t discourage us, but instead the rejection made us [Tuff Gang] strong and focused that ever before,” Jay Polly told The New Times.

Tuff Gang’s fans continued to request for the group’s songs, and asking for their whereabouts through the radio stations.

According to an insider, Tuff Gang has reconciled with the showbiz journalists, who had on several occasion reported that the group takes drugs (weed), and were violentl.

The same source added that the guys are busy working on their new songs to be released soon.
