RWAMAGANA - Kigabiro Court of First Instance in Rwamagana District last Friday charged a 30-year old man for defilement. Vedaste Bigaruka, a resident of Uswahilini in Rwamagana town was arrested and detained recently in connection with a case involving the defilement of a minor.

Vedaste Bigaruka, a resident of Uswahilini in Rwamagana town was arrested and detained recently in connection with a case involving the defilement of a minor.
Prosecution alleges that the accused was caught red-handed defiling a 13-year old girl at his residence in Uswahilini. He however, denies the charges.
After reading the charges, court presided over by Cecile Nyiransabimana, said the suspect will be produced for trial after 30 days.
Nyiransabimana, said the suspect was charged under articles 38 and 27 of the penal code which protects children’s rights and abuse.
The same court gave bail to Bigaruka’s co-accused Zainabu Umuhoza, who allegedly lured the young girl into the suspect’s hands.
