The Power of a Thought

Have you ever said something and immediately wished you could take it back? How many times do you fall out with your favourite friends just because of careless verbal expressions and failure to mince your words?

Have you ever said something and immediately wished you could take it back? How many times do you fall out with your favourite friends just because of careless verbal expressions and failure to mince your words?

As far as weapons are concerned, words are the deadliest because they go direct to the heart causing emotional scars that take much longer to heal than physical wounds.

What comes out of your mouth is a reflection of what is going on in your mind and bitter words always come from a bitter person. If you allow bitter thoughts into your mind they will poison your whole being and turn you into a loner that no one wants to be around.

One of the most important functions of the mind is to process thoughts into words and actions. God wired it so beautifully that one can always chose which of their thoughts to air and which not to.

Words should always be chosen with great care as they have a lasting impact. Once spoken or written they can never be erased and could completely tarnish people’s image of the speaker.

Since it begins with thoughts, changing words alone cannot eliminate the problem.

Choosing to suppress bad thoughts about someone or something for fear of causing discomfort serves its purpose but leaves you with the same bitter feelings that might still find their way out through words or actions, if not resolved.

The best way to deal with the urge to get back at someone is not to dismiss it, but to look for opportune ways of resolving the issue amicably.

We are by nature positive. Negativity is the result of faulty thinking. You can change if you want to. You can not control other people, situations or circumstances, but you can control what is going on inside you.

It takes time to change and transform those old patterns of thinking.

Be patient with yourself. It starts with a positive thought..... Today!
