AFTER stretching APR in last Sunday’s Rutsindura Memorial final, fallen giants National University of Rwanda (UNR) want to go a step better at this weekend’s Carre d’ AS tournament.

The annual event, which also counts as the final competitive event on the local volleyball calendar will merge the top four clubs in the men’s and ladies league.

Preliminary action will be held in Kibungo-Eastern province tomorrow while the finals are scheduled for Sunday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

UNR’s head coach Jado Castar believes his side can still push for their first silverware of the season this weekend.

"We feel we can still push for that silverware this weekend. There were a lot of positives from our performance last Sunday and we just want to push a little further this time round,” Castar said.

Soras, one of Rwanda’s insurance companies has boosted this year’s edition with Rwf2m.

The winners will get Rwf0.3m while the second and third teams will pocket Rwf0.2m and Rwf0.1m.
