GATSIBO- The Nyagatare Court of Higher Instance on Wednesday postponed the hearing of a case involving the former Gatsibo District Mayor to November 5.

Jean Marie Vianney Murego, was arrested in July this year along with his vice in charge of Economic affairs, Bossa Rwemalika, and charged with mismanagement of public funds.
Court said the hearing was postponed after prosecution requested for more time to complete investigations into the case.

"We received a letter from one of the prosecutors requesting the case be postponed to allow them to complete investigations,” court president Freddy Nkubito said.

Earlier in July, court remanded Murego to Nsinda Prison while Rwemalika was released on bail.

Another co-accused in the case is the former director of infrastructure, Dickson Kimenyi.
