Group Vivendi Africa (GVA Rwanda), the company behind Canalbox, has launched a new summer campaign called "Turahabaye”, aimed at making high-speed internet more accessible to families across Rwanda.
Announced during a press conference at Ishusho TV, on May 30, the limited-time promotion includes free installation for new customers who subscribe to any Canalbox home internet plan, along with one month of free access to YouScribe, a digital library offering more than 1.5 million resources, including books, audiobooks, magazines, and comics.
Both new and existing users will receive an SMS to activate their free YouScribe account. The campaign highlights CanalBox’s continued efforts to support digital inclusion and expand quality internet services across the country.

According to Aime Abizera, CEO of GVA Rwanda, the goal of the new campaign is not only to provide internet but to bring added value to customers. He explained that Canalbox wants to go beyond simply offering connectivity by including access to meaningful digital content for learning and entertainment.
Abizera highlighted that the partnership with YouScribe is meant to support families, especially during the school holiday period.
"This is a tool that students can use for exams, which kids can enjoy during holidays, and adults can use to read newspapers, books, or comics,” he said.
He pointed out that the platform allows offline reading and AI-based book recommendations, helping users find content that matches their interests, adding that each household can have up to five users on one YouScribe account, making it a shared resource for the entire family.
"We see this as a step forward in promoting digital inclusion and culture through technology, and this offer is exclusive to Canalbox subscribers during the June–July promo window,” he added.

Eric Manzi, Marketing Manager at Canalbox, explained that the company wants this campaign to speak directly to everyday life. Alongside the summer promotion, they produced a TV commercial that shows what internet access means to people, far beyond just browsing.
"Unlimited Internet is not just a tool. It supports communication, learning, work, and entertainment. So, instead of just explaining that, we created a video to show how it truly impacts people’s lives,” he said.
Manzi also introduced the partnership with YouScribe, explaining that the platform offers a wide variety of content, from textbooks and audiobooks to comics and magazines, across multiple languages. The goal, he said, was to add more value to what Canalbox offers its users, not just for new customers but for loyal, long-term subscribers as well. Through the partnership, users will have one free month to explore YouScribe’s entire digital library, including the option to download content for offline reading or listening.
He emphasised how relevant the service is, especially during the school term and holiday season.
"Students preparing for exams in July, business owners looking for insights, or anyone just wanting to relax with a comic or a novel—there’s something for everyone,” he said.
Manzi encouraged journalists to try the platform themselves, promising access links and user guides to help them experience the service first-hand.
Customers would have to have an active subscription to be able to take advantage of this partnership with YouScribe, by renewing their subscription via USSD by dialing *860, by accessing the customer self-care portal on canalbox.rw, visiting any Canal store or distributor, or via IremboPlus.
