SIX cyclists have been chosen to represent Rwanda at the tour of Senegal that is scheduled to run from October 9 to 18.

The six include Supa Tour of Kigali winner Nathan Byukusenge, Kwita Izina challenge tour winner Abraham Ruhumuriza, Obed Ruvogera, Uwase Nyandwi, Rafiki Jean de Dieu and Innocent Sibomana.

Other countries lined up for the annual cycling competition include Egypt, Namibia, Ivory Coast, Niger, Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Uganda, Morocco, Burundi, Gambia, South Africa, Holland, France and Belgium.

While some believe that the Supa Tour of Kigali may have left the cyclists fatigued, the

Executive secretary of the National Cycling federation (FERWACY) Emmanuel Murenzi thinks otherwise.

"On the contrary, the tour helped to warm up the cyclists and put them in the competing mood,” the official said.
The tour of Senegal will is the fourth international event local cyclists are taking part in after Amissa Bongo and Tour of Egypt.
