Two goals from Emmanuel Tuyishime and Ipti Hadji Bizimana were enough for Amagaju FC to beat Muhazi United 2-1 at Huye Stadium on Wednesday, May 28, and them into the second division.
Amagaju’s hopes of playing in the Rwanda Premier League next season were on the ropes as a defeat against Muhazi United would see them relegated. However, they stood firm and their home crowd pushed them to beat Muhazi United who have now followed Vision FC in the second division.
Tuyishime opened the scoring for the home side in the 24th minute before his teammate Bizimana doubled the lead through a long range shot in the 58th minute to help Amars Niyongabo’s side take control of the game. Bizimana is the son for former Etincelles and Amagaju coach Abdu Bizimana known as Beken.
Mohamed Kyeyune scored a consolation goal in the 64th minute to halve the deficit for the visitors but it was too late to turn the scores around.
