RWAMAGANA - The newly elected local leader of Kigabiro Sector Advisory Council has vowed to work towards improving people’s welfare.

Alex Kanyenganji said, "Let everyone of us play his or her role effectively. And I swear that I will leave no stone unturned in improving the people’s welfare.”

Addressing the new council, the Sector Executive Secretary, Valerie Rububi thanked the electorate for the discipline exhibited during the elections.

"I congratulate you for  having been elected as new leaders in our sector. I at the same time thank the people who elected you in such a good electioneering environment,” he said.

The sector leaders further advised newly elected officials to work tirelessly to improve people’s welfare, so as not to betray the voters.

"These people have elected you with confidence that you will deliver. If you don’t, then you stand to be blamed,” the sector leader added.

Paul Gisagara, one of the voters, sounded supportive of the new leaders if only they can live to his expectations.
"We shall cooperate with the leadership…provided they do not disappoint us,” he said.

The area electoral commission official, Narcisse Rurangwa, said he was impressed by voter turn out in the elections.

"The elections were conducted in three phases successfully. People’s participation was 100%,” he said.
