Everyone wants to be useful to society, but at times things just do not work out the way we wish. The challenges of life sometimes turn good dreams the opposite direction.
Many times, people succeed and play important roles.

This does not mean that those who do not make it to the expected heights of excellence cannot succeed. You keep aiming high until you succeed.

Teenagers need to look at their present role as a way to achieving their dreams.

James Mutabazi is a student at Lycee de Kigali Secondary School who is working towards his dream. He studies science subjects and his dream is to become a medical doctor.

"I have always thought of becoming nothing else but a doctor, the reason behind the subjects I am currently offering,” said Mutabazi.

However, he warned and advised fellow student to avoid taking courses because others are doing them. Teenagers need to discover their potential before they can embark on any course they offer.

"Such tendency is dangerous as it may cause challenges that could lead to poor performance and failure to achieve your goal,” he said.

Mutabazi encourages other students to think hard before they choose certain subjects.

The future of anyone’s career and life in most cases depends on the subjects you study while at secondary school. Therefore these need to be chosen carefully.

Alice Umutoni said that determination is the only key to success.

"I must work hard to ensure that my performance is good,” Umutoni said adding that, "… no matter what people say about certain courses, I believe that everything is possible.”

Umutoni emphasizes that everything is possible. This means that with a dream, a vision is born and with determination, this vision can become real. This is what all youth need to understand.
