MUHANGA — Police in Nyamabuye arrested Evariste Uzabakiriho, 47, for allegedly defiling his own 14-year old daughter.

Police say Uzabakiriho sexually abused his daughter (names withheld on request) at their home in Kinini cell, Shogwe sector on the night of October 2.

Uzabakiriho confessed to the crime he committed. Sources say it was the family housemaid who raised alarm after witnessing the suspect forcing his daughter into having sex with him.

Sources further say the suspect was arrested by residents who handed him over to security officials.

Police say preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was well known for his amorous behaviour within the neighborhood.
