The Parliaments of Rwanda and Burkina Faso recently signed a cooperation agreement aimed at boosting relations between them.

According to a statement issued by the Rwandan parliament, the agreement was signed in Burkina Faso during the visit to the country by the Speaker, Hon. Rose Mukantabana.

Mukantabana returned yesterday from Burkina Faso after a four-day visit.

"Both parliaments agreed to have an exchange programme and exchanging information and documents regarding the operations of both parliaments,” reads the statement.

"The agreement also indicates that friendship groups will be established between the two parliaments.”

"She was invited to witness the opening of the second term of the Burkina Parliament held on September 30,” reads a parliamentary press release.

Mukantabana’s visits to Burkina Fasso follows that of the Speaker of Burkina Parliament, Roch Marc Christian Kabore, who visited Rwanda in February this year.

Kabore was in the country to witness the opening of the first term of the Rwandan parliament.
