RWANDA OTC MARKET REPORT : Week ended 2nd October 2009

This week Rwf 97,200 from 600 KCB shares traded in one transaction at the price of Rwf 162. The KCB shares closed at Rwf 162; a decrease of Rwf 3 from the previous week’s closing of Rwf 165. At the end of the session, 50,000 shares were on offer and no buyers.

This week Rwf 97,200 from 600 KCB shares traded in one transaction at the price of Rwf 162. The KCB shares closed at Rwf 162; a decrease of Rwf 3 from the previous week’s closing of Rwf 165. At the end of the session, 50,000 shares were on offer and no buyers.

On the Nairobi Stock Exchange, KCB shares fluctuated between a high of 21.25 Kshs(Rwf162) on Monday and touched a low of 20.00 Kshs(Rwf152) on Tuesday. The volumes were also slightly lower compared to the previous week. 

Thursday, a total of 1,208,200 KCB shares were traded within the range of 20.50 Kshs (Rwf156) and 21.00 Kshs (Rwf160) to close at 20.50 Kshs (Rwf156). The NSE All share index rose 0.31 points to close at 67.04.

DSE (Dares Salaam Stock Exchange and USE (Uganda Securities Exchange) did not trade KCB shares.

The Bond Market: On the bond market no transactions were recorded. 

At the close of the business, Rwf 2 billion worth of Government bonds were on offer (sellers) at Rwf 99.8 and there were two bids (buyers) of Rwf 2 billion and Rwf 5 million for the same bonds at 94.00 and 97.80, respectively. 

There were also BCR bank bonds worth Rwf 150 million on offer at Rwf 100.50.
