The event which is linked to China’s 60th anniversary celebrations will be sponsored by the Chinese language teaching institute – Confucius Institute based at the Kigali Institute of Education (CIKIE).

Prof. Hou Wanchun, CIKIE deputy director said the aim of the event is to promote Chinese culture as well as China’s Confucius Institute in Rwanda and Africa.

In addition to Rwanda, the entertainers will also perform in Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

CIKIE is a non-profit institution that was officially launched mid this year, before it formally started last year, a pact establishing it was signed between KIE and China’s Chongqing Normal University (CNU).
