Key matches to be played at same time as Rwanda Premier League reaches critical stage

Saturday Fixtures (Kickoff at 3:00 PM):

  • Bugesera vs Rayon Sports (Bugesera Stadium)
  • APR vs Gorilla (Kigali Stadium)
  • Amagaju vs Mukura (Huye Stadium)
  • Marines vs Musanze (Umuganda Stadium)

The administration of the Rwanda Premier League has confirmed that a number of key fixtures will be played simultaneously this weekend as the 2024/25 season enters a decisive phase to prevent any potential issues that could affect the title race or relegation battle.

With only three matches left to the end of season, the title race is quite tight, with just one point separating leaders Rayon Sports (59 points) and second-placed APR (58 points).

In Saturday’s fixtures, relegation-threatened Bugesera will host table-toppers Rayon Sports at Bugesera Stadium, while APR will face Gorilla FC at Kigali Stadium. Both matches will kick off at 3PM.

Rayon Sports are seeking their first league title since 2019, while APR aim to defend their trophy.

During Rayon’s encounter with Bugesera, they will be without key players Aboul Rahman Rukundo (suspended after a red card against Police) and Azizi Bassane (suspended due to yellow card accumulation).

Bugesera sits 11th on the table with 31 points and are battling to stay in the top division. APR, meanwhile, will play their first match without recently sacked head coach Darko Novic and his entire staff. A newly appointed coaching team will lead the side against Gorilla.

In other crucial relegation ties, second-bottom Amagaju host Mukura at Huye Stadium, and Marines take on Musanze at Umuganda Stadium, both at 3PM.
