Bangui Sporting Club, a Central African Republic outfit for which Rwandan players Kenny Gasana and Kendall Gray feature, started its Basketball Africa League (BAL) round of 16 qualifiers with a 67-55 victory over Morocco’s Association Sportive de Sale (AS Sale), on Monday, November 14.

In a match that took place in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, AS Sale found it difficult to contain Bangui’s players like Steven-Emile Perriere who contributed a game-high of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals.

DR Congo's Rolly Fula, one of the team's new additions, reminded everyone why he is a talent to be reckoned with after finishing with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in the winning cause.

Kendall Gray made his 2.08m (6ft 9in) height felt in the paint by finishing with a game-high 5 blocks.

Kenny Gasana had a rather silent game on the day.

This victory was a testament of Bangui Sporting Club's intentions in the Elite 16 Round.

Bangui were the better side in almost all departments of the game. AS Sale need to regroup and move on from this poor performance if they are to compete in the BAL for the third time.
