The national carrier, Rwandair has cut flight charges between Kigali and Entebbe by 25 percent or $50 (Rw28,250) for a return ticket.

The airline said that the new charges of $150 (Rwf84,750)—tax excluded, have been introduced as a special customer appreciation program due to a positive reception by its clients. The promotion will run until the end of the year.

During an interview with the Business Times, Rwandair’s Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager, Michael Otieno said that the promotion will be introduced on other flights.

It comes days after the carrier had just opened up a sales office in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to officials, the reforms are seen as a move to better service delivery and cope with growing competition within the region.
