Rwanda men’s national basketball team has been drawn into Group C alongside Nigeria, Guinea, and Tunisia for the upcoming FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers which will start in November.

Rwanda secured a spot in the qualifiers as one of the 16 teams that qualified for AfroBasket 2025 which will take place in Angola from August from 12-24.

The World Cup qualifiers will take place across six dedicated windows between November 2025 and March 2027, there will be 420 games to enjoy worldwide.

FIBA President Sheikh Saud Ali Al Thani, FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis, and the FIBA Central Board attended the draw event, along with Qatar Basketball Federation and LOC Director General Mohammed Al-Meghaiseeb.

The FIBA World Cup 2027 will take place in Qatar.

The draw

Group A: Cameroun, South Sudan, Libya and Cape Verde

Group B: Senegal, DR Congo, Madagascar and Cote d’Ivoire

Group C: Nigeria, Rwanda, Guinea, and Tunisia.

Group D: Mali, Angola, Uganda and Egypt.
