Learning is an endless process throughout our lifetime. Some Youth today have realized the importance of achieving an education and have discovered that learning is the way to go.

However, although learning to achieve is based on determination and ability to grasp, many other factors have to be considered.

Musa Ntakirutimana, an S.5 student at La Colombiere High School, said that although he is at the age when individuals are said to easily understand what they read, reading and learning still remains a challenge for many.

He added that learning is not easy for every youth but depends on ones intelligence and attitude towards learning.
"It is possible for an intelligent and committed old man to perform better than any other youth who is not serious with studies,” Ntakirutimana said.

He further said that, "The youth are at a learning stage but they sometimes misuse their time doing unnecessary things and only concentrate on reading when exams are around the corner.”

Christele Gaju, a student too said that reading alone does not determine good performance but when one reads what they understand, then they can excel.

"What we read and understand is important since it helps us get good results unlike reading with the aim of only covering the syllabus,” Gaju said.

Reading to learn requires concentration and commitment. It is also a process that needs time, a quiet environment and a free mindset.
