Pro-femme Twesse Hamwe elects a new leadership

MUHANGA - Olive Masirabo has been elected the chairperson of the women’s association, Pro-femme Twesse Hamwe, in the Southern Province. In the elections held on September, 25, at St. Andre centre in Kabgayi, by the provincial general assembly, Didaciene Mwambarangwe was elected vice chairperson, to lead a nine-person committee for a two year term.

MUHANGA - Olive Masirabo has been elected the chairperson of the women’s association, Pro-femme Twesse Hamwe, in the Southern Province.

In the elections held on September, 25, at St. Andre centre in Kabgayi, by the provincial general assembly, Didaciene Mwambarangwe was elected vice chairperson, to lead a nine-person committee for a two year term.

The new committee vowed to serve unreservedly and support women associations in empowerment activities.

The women’s congress acknowledged the role of their predecessors in empowering rural women economically, through establishing micro-finance projects, and building women’s capacity to play leadership roles.

The leaders also noted that women have become the centre of development in Rwanda by embracing various government development policies.
