APR women basketball team head coach Charles Mushumba has warned rivals that their objective of winning the women’s national basketball league championship has not changed.

The army side trail in second place with 24 points, level with league leaders Rwanda Energy Group (REG) who have played a game less. They take on East Africa University Rwanda (EAUR) on Wednesday evening at Petit Stade at 6pm hoping to go at the top, provided that REG slip against UR Kigali.

The race for the title remains open but, based on the current standings, Mushumba expressed his confidence that his charges can fight for the top prize till the last minute.

"We are still in the title race at this stage; we are doing everything possible to stay close to the leaders,” he told Times Sport.

"The ultimate target is the league title and the season still has a long way to go,” he added.
