World Taekwondo (WT) president and Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation (THF) Chairman Chungwon Choue is in Rwanda for a three-day working visit.
Choue, who arrived in Kigali on Monday, May 5, is visiting Rwanda for the first time since he took office in 2004.
According to the Rwanda Taekwondo Federation, he is today, May 6, visiting Mahama Refugee Camp to observe and support Taekwondo activities at the camp.
During his visit, Choue will also meet officials from the Ministry of Sports and representatives of the Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee before concluding the visit on May 7.
Who is Chungwon Choue?
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Choue has been involved in World Taekwondo since 1999. He initiated the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation project and has held various positions, including Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the foundation.
The 77-year-old has actively participated in and sustained personal investment in international sports. Currently, he is the Honorary President of the Taekwondo Peace Corps and an advisor to the Korean Olympic Committee.
