Lean On Me

Cine Star Cinema

Cine Star Cinema, situated in Nyamirambo, is showing latest movies this weekend, and the entrance fee is Rfw1500.
Scheduled for Friday: ‘Lean On Me’ (English), at 7:00 p.m, and ‘88 Minutes’ (French) at 9:00 p.m.

Reviews:
Lean On Me: It isn’t easy to give a good performance while hollering through a bullhorn, but it can be done. And Morgan Freeman manages it in ‘’Lean on Me,’’ in which he plays Joe Clark, the controversial high-school principal from Paterson, Freeman marches through the film at full blast, berating the students of Eastside High School in the tough, bombastic style for which Mr. Clark’s makeup that makes him rely almost exclusively on such bullying tactics.

88 Minutes: Dr. Jack Gramm is a college professor who moonlights as a forensic psychiatrist for the FBI. Gramm receives a death threat claiming he has only 88 minutes to live.

Saturday: ‘Stop Loss’ (English) at 7:00, and ‘Rich Man’s Wife’ (French) at 9:00p.m.

Reviews: Stop Loss
Strewn story parts pile up in ‘Stop-Loss’, a painfully polite Iraq war drama pitched at the MTV generation.

Peirce is a horrified civilian, trying to keep everyone safe. ‘Stop-Loss’, was directed by Kimberly Peirce, and written by Mark Richard.

Rich Man’s Wife: When the wealthy, older husband of a beautiful young woman is found brutally murdered, the wife instantly becomes the prime suspect.

Starring: Halle Berry, Christopher McDonald, Clive Owen, Peter Greene
Sunday: ‘Akeelah and the Bee’ (French) at 7:00 p.m, and ‘Obsessed’ at 9:00 p.m.

Reviews:
Akeelah Anderson (Keke Palmer) is an 11-year-old being raised by her mother, Tanya (Angela Bassett), who was left on her own after the death of her husband.

While Akeelah is a very bright girl, she’s hardly a star student and seems afraid of acting like a bookworm around her friends and classmates.

Obsessed is somewhat predictable, kind of mild foray into fatal attraction territory, It’s also more entertaining than it probably should be, thanks mostly to the cast. Idris Elba plays a man who seems to have it all.

As the film moves to it’s fairly obvious conclusion, the talented cast stays game enough to just make it all work.
