Muhazi United head coach Emmanuel Ruremesha has admitted that things are tough but insisted that he is optimistic of steering his team out of relegation.

Muhazi United are 14th on the 16-team table with 27 points from 26 games. They have three tough games coming up against Rutsiro, APR and Amagaju.

On Thursday, the club secured a hard fought 1-1 draw against Kiyovu at Kigali Pele Stadium, and they will be hoping to build on that momentum to maintain their topflight status.

"Honestly, I believe we have been under pressure lately but I am sure we can escape relegation,” Ruremesha said.

"Against Kiyovu, it was a tough game because both teams are fighting to avoid relegation to the second tier,” he added.

Ruremesha's contract with Muhazi United expires in June and it is not yet known if he will be there for the 2025/26 campaign.
