APR missed out on the podium at the African Volleyball Club Championship after losing the third place match at the hands of Egyptian club Al Ahly SC in three sets (16-25, 15-25, 18-25) on Tuesday at in Misurata, Libya.

It was a setback for Sammy Mulinge and his side which had an impressive campaign at the tournament before losing the semi-finals against home side club Swehly Sports Club on Monday.

Al Ahly claimed the bronze medal after putting three straight sets past the Rwandan champions who were dominated from the beginning as they failed to reach 20 points in either of the three sets.
