KAMONYI- Students at GS Masaka, in Rugalika sector are missing classes as a result of differences between teachers and the school administration, The New Times has learnt.

Students have complained that some teachers have not appeared in class for weeks during this semester. Some students say the same problem affected their performance last semester.

"We have been missing mathematics and political science classes since this stand off began. We are very concerned that this may affect our final performance and this should be addressed,” one student said.

Sources further say that some teachers as a result have reportedly abandoned teaching altogether while others have quit their jobs leaving the students stranded.

The students have demanded that new teachers be employed to fill the gap.

Assistant headmaster, Theoneste Buragatare confirmed the development and said that the stand off has affected the school’s performance.

He revealed that the issue has been forwarded to district officials and possible solutions are likely to be found very soon.
