Teenagers love and hate many things but their love for games and sports is inspired by many factors. They have specific reasons for enjoying certain games and this is purely based on their interest and choice.

This also depends on the expected results that come with engaging in activities besides their studies.

Karine Umutoni a student at Glory Secondary School loves games but prefers particular ones.

"I like games but I prefer volleyball and basketball,” Umutoni said.

She explains that her interest comes as a result of the hope and love she finds when playing these games.

She believes that out of her interest, she can easily become one of the best players anyone has ever seen.

To her fellow youths, she advised that they needed to take part in sports with determination.

Kevin Bugingo, an S.4 student considers concentrating on both his studies and sports as important. He said that they both create different opportunities for a brighter future.

He pointed out that many people have managed to earn a living because of their talents especially when they play professional games.

"Many people have highly earned out of playing various games like football, tennis, golf and a lot more,” he said.

However, he noted that there must be an appropriate balance between sports and studies so as to avoid failure at one activity at the expense of another.

"Time should be utilized profitably by keeping a balance in order to avoid misusing our chances to achieving a successful education,” he said.

This implies that keeping active for the youth is a very important aspect of life. Life is not only about books, it involves outdoor activities that keep people physically and mentally healthy.

It does not take much to try out and discover new talents because at the end of the day, the future is in your hands and it’s up to you to nurture it and make something out of your life.

Of course this will happen with the help of those around you who encourage and support you.

So, teenagers should stand up and stop being couch potatoes; with all the God given energy you have, you need to stand out of the crowd and show the world what you got to offer.
