MUHANGA — Muslims in Muhanga district have collected over Rwf  16 million for the purposes of constructing  a new mosque located in Nyabisindu village.

The announcement was made during the  Eid Mubarak day celebrations that was marked at Gitaliban grounds on Sunday. Hundreds of Muslim faithfuls gathered for celebrations in which prayers were led by Sheikh Amani Ruzindana.

The funds were collected during the fasting period of Ramadhan. Clerics say the  funds drive  will continue. In the collection Rwf 1.6m came in as pledges.

Sheikh Ruzindana said, "all Muslims should be zealous and God fearing and portray the will of the almighty in their daily affairs in order to win the favour of His  mercy in their lives.”
